Hello West Babylon

Hello West Babylon Public Library community! I am happy to introduce myself as your new Library Director!

After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Queens College, I began a career as a staff accountant. Later, I decided to follow my passion for all things library-related and received a Master’s of Library and Information Science from Queens College and an Advanced Certificate in Public Library Administration from Palmer Graduate Library School, C.W. Post campus of Long Island University. I have worked as a Children’s, Young Adult and Reference librarian at the Levittown Public library, where I was most recently employed as their Head of Young Adult.

I am a past president of the Nassau County Library Association, served as a Content Expert for the Young Adult Library Services Association, have written numerous articles for VOYA magazine and am author of the book Cultivating Strong Girls: Library Programming That Builds Self-Esteem and Challenges Inequality, published by Libraries Unlimited. In 2017, I was named a Library Journal Mover and Shaker and have presented at many local and national conferences, including Long Island PopCon, Long Island Library Conference, SLJTeen Live, and the Public Library Association and American Library Association annual conferences.

Congratulations to my wonderful predecessor Gail Pepa on her retirement! Gail has worked hard to ensure a smooth transition and I will strive to provide the same quality of leadership. I have been warmly welcomed by the staff and Board of Trustees and am excited to work with such a great team to provide excellence in library service to our community. I would also like to thank the Board for selecting me as your new director.

Please stop by to say hello! I look forward to working together and meeting the West Babylon community.
