Makerspace Drop-In

 Mondays: September 14 & 28 from 6-8 pm.
Drop in for an overview of the Makerspace. The Makerspace is an area that allows patrons an opportunity to produce projects using a variety of Library-owned tools including Cricut cutting machines, a poster printer, button makers & more!

Computer Skills Learning Kits

Kits include a Chromebook and booklet with printed tutorials, including Large Print, which are designed for patrons to learn basic computer skills at home and at their own pace. Learn the basics of using a computer, the Internet and a Chromebook. In addition, learn how to use Zoom to participate in the Library’s virtual programs and how to use the Library’s electronic resources including eBooks, eMagazines and streaming music. Reserve a kit or ask a Librarian at the Reference Desk for more information.

Social Work Intern

Our Social Work intern Emily will be here to assist patrons with important social services and provide referrals to: housing, unemployment help, food pantries, shelters, mental health facilities, care coordination, support groups, and finding legal assistance. Patrons will also be able to get help filling out forms and applications for various social services. Please call the Library for more information. 

West Babylon Seed Library

We welcome you to be part of our Seed Saving Library! Our mission is to preserve, grow, and share seeds with the community. Adult WBPL Cardholders may get 6 seed packets per month (limit of 2 per seed) – flowers, herbs, fruit, and/or vegetables. Please visit the Adult Reference Desk and let us know which seeds you’ll be borrowing and to pick up your seed packets.

Balloon Recycling with Balloon Mission

Balloon Recycling BinContinue to help the environment by recycling your balloons. We’ve partnered with Balloon Mission to help keep our oceans & planet clean! If you’re having a birthday party, graduation party, or are using balloons for any other gathering, bring your deflated balloons to the library to recycle instead of putting them in the garbage. Balloon Mission accepts all deflated latex, foil, mylar, ribbons, confetti, water balloon pieces, and other balloon accessories. Learn more about Balloon Mission and the good work they’re doing.
