Drop in for an overview of the Library’s Makerspace. The Makerspace is an area that allows patrons an opportunity to produce projects using a variety of Library-owned resources including Cricut cutting machines, a poster printer, button makers, and more!

Curious about artificial intelligence but not sure where to start? Join us for an informative and easy-to-follow program exploring how AI is used in everyday life. Learn practical ways AI can help with tasks like planning, writing, organizing, and finding information. Registration is underway.

Red, White, & Blue Tiny Art Contest
Show off your creativity in our Red, White & Blue Tiny Art Contest! Create an original patriotic-themed masterpiece on a miniature canvas using any art medium, including paint, markers, collage materials, and more. Blank canvases may be picked up beginning August 4, and participants will have two weeks to complete their artwork. All entries must be returned by August 18 at 9:00 PM. Entries will be displayed in the library for public voting from August 21–28, with the top two artists receiving prizes. Winners will be announced on August 31, and artwork may be picked up beginning September 4. Adult WB cardholders only.

PSEGLI Consumer Advocate Table

PSEGLI Consumer Advocates will be available to explain programs that are available to assist low-moderate income customers, such as the:
- Household Assistance Rate Program
- Deferred Payment Agreements for accounts in threat of termination
- Residential Energy Affordability Partnership Program (REAP) to educate customers on how to lower their energy costs
- Peace of Mind & Friendly Follow Up Programs
- Critical Care Program for customers on Life Sustaining Equipment

Medicaid Enrollment Assistance

The Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council will have facilitated enrollers trained by the NY State Department of Health at our Library to assist the aged, blind, and disabled populations with enrollment. Unleash your creativity and join our drop-in craft club! Bring your knitting, crocheting, or any other needlework project that you’re working on. Share tips and learn from each other as you work on your creations. Beginners and experienced stitchers are welcome! It’ll be “sew” fun! *Materials not provided.
