Volunteering
Volunteer programs are only open to West Babylon School District residents in grades 6-12 unless otherwise stated.
We’ll keep a record of the hours you earn, so there’s no need to request a certificate each time you complete a community service or volunteer project. Just let us know when you need one, and we’ll be happy to provide it within a week.
CARDS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Request a Community Card Kit from the Adult Reference Desk to complete in the Library. Create get well soon and sympathy cards for a local veterinary emergency hospital, kindness cards for patients in Hospice and their families, or sunshine cards for seniors in local nursing homes.
5 cards = 1 hour of community service. Teens can earn a maximum of 4 hours of community service a month.

TEEN ADVISORY GROUP
TAG members will help plan, implement, promote, and attend teen library programs and events. Members are expected to attend monthly meetings to organize programs and to offer input on library services and materials. Members will also act as ambassadors for the Library by getting friends and peers involved, sharing information about upcoming events, and bringing back input and suggestions from the community.
Our Teen Advisory Group is divided into two grade groups:
Teens in grades 6-8 (6-7 pm)
Teens in grades 9-12 (7:15-8:15 pm)
Both groups meet on the same night every month, but at different times.
Please note: This program requires a monthly commitment.
