1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten reading club promotes the importance of reading aloud with children, starting in infancy. Along your journey to 1,000 books, we will provide reading tips, reading logs to track progress (either through the app or just plain paper), a free tote bag when you reach 100 books, free books at every reading milestone, a “Reading Stars Wall of Fame” both in person and virtually, and lots of encouragement and enthusiasm!

Any book read to your child counts, including books from story times or nursery school, even books your child has read before. Give them the opportunity to feel proud of a huge accomplishment! Make sure they are as ready as they can be for one of the biggest moments of their little life — starting school. For more information please see a librarian or give us a call.

Register to record books and earn prizes by:
– picking up or downloading a paper reading log OR
– downloading the app

*please note – our online club has been discontinued. If you have recorded books online please contact a Librarian and we will help you switch to a paper log or through the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten App*
