Dinovember!
Beginning Saturday, November 1, the Children’s Room will be hosting Dinovember!
Dinovember is a month-long event in November where toy dinosaurs are said to come to life and get into mischief! This also means that the Children’s Room will be focused on ALL THINGS dinosaur during this month. We will have several activities, programs, and crafts going on to celebrate.

It’s dino-VEMBER! Join us at the Library for a Zoom presentation run by the Paleontological Research Institution. Take a virtual tour into their space, look at fossils close-up; all in front of a life size Stegosaurus!
DINO COLORING STATION
Art students from West Babylon Junior and Senior High School volunteered their time
and skills to create dino-riffic posters for our Children’s Room!
Stop in and help us color them in to decorate the room for Dinovember!
FOSSIL STATION
Patrons up to grade 5 can request a fossil kit from the librarian at the Children’s Desk. Complete the kit at a table & follow the directions to create your own fossil.
Fossils will be displayed throughout the month of November in our display case. Use the materials provided or bring in your own items to shape your fossils!
- Patrons can make 1 fossil during the month of November.
- Fossil kits must be completed in the library & materials cannot be brought home.
- All fossils can be picked up after November 30.
- Fossils not picked up by December 8 will be discarded.
The library is not responsible for any items used to create a fossil that get lost, damaged, or broken.
